Taste Guru Box-of-the-Month Club

By | Feb 27, 2013

The following product review is from National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) volunteer Laura Hanley of G-Free Laura.

There are few things better in this world than receiving delicious gluten-free food at your doorstep.

I received my first box from Taste Guru last week. It was filled with gluten-free products that are off the chain, including a bag of Peanut Butter Chocolate Kettle Corn that I pulled a Houdini on within 12-minutes of opening (whoopsies). Delivered each month to subscribers, the Taste Guru box contains 6-8 items, including those that come from some of the big brands we have come to love, as well as some from the startup brands that are on their way to g-free stardom.

The February box that I received had focaccia bread mix, sugar cookies, kettle corn, awesome Mezzetta sandwich spread, a Taste of Thai coat-and-bake mix, and scrumptious gluten-free muffins from Canyon Bakehouse.  Now you can’t tell me you wouldn’t want that box showing up on your doorstep!

Taste Guru Box-of-the-Month: Box

Wouldn’t you love to have this gluten-free box show up on your doorstep?

The company also includes a little recipe card incorporating some of the included products. I particularly loved this part because I rely heavily on others for recipe ideas because I’m a “Plain Jane” kind of cook. I need that little umph to make something magical, and Taste Guru definitely gave me that umph!

The best part about the Taste Guru box is that each month the box items change, so you can always be sure that you are receiving new products and spreading those g-free wings of yours! I wish they had this service when I first went gluten-free nearly four years ago!  I wasted a lot of money buying products at the store only to find out once I got home and tasted them that they were absolutely horrible. Taste Guru does the taste-testing for you and only sends products that are high-quality and pleasing to the taste-buds.

I even love this box-of-the-month service now because although I now have my gluten-free bearings, it gives me an opportunity to try brands I haven’t even heard of yet! I can personally say that if I was at the grocery store I never would have picked up the Mezzetta sandwich spread, but thanks to Taste Guru, I now know that it’s delicious and it’s going to bring my sandwiches to life from now on!!

I highly recommend Tate Guru to anyone who wants the chance to try new gluten-free products in an economic way. You can purchase a 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, or 1-year subscription. The products inside each box will most definitely be worth more than the price that you pay, so you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck, too!

One of the cutest things I’ve ever seen also came in the Taste Guru box – the “little gfree bag” (like Bloomingdale’s “big brown bag”…get it?). So awesome! I soooooo want the “little gfree bag” in the form of a lunch box! I would totally rock that on my way to the break room!

Taste Guru Box-of-the-Month: Little Gfree Bag

Love this bag! If only there was a “little gfree lunchbox” too!

I can also personally say that I know the folks behind Taste Guru, as I am helping them with some blogging promotions and they are passionate about the gluten-free community! Taste Guru wants to provide the best products out there to gluten-free consumers, so don’t worry – your box WILL be full of deliciousness!

If only someone could send it over the pond – I’d love this here in the UK. Where’s the bright green jealous smiley when you need it? But seriously, what a great idea – I hope you’re going to let us know what is included each month. The inspiration will be brilliant!
