I mentioned in the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) newsletter this month that I had the chance to go to Natural Products Expo East. In a nutshell, Expo East is an enormous food exposition where hundreds of vendors come to demo their products. It seemed like everywhere I turned, someone was handing out samples of their newest gluten-free product – including Brad’s Organic.
I love salsa and chips. I mean, really love salsa and chips. It’s not just about the taste either; it’s the social aspect that comes with it. Have you ever seen people gather faster than when there’s a bowl of salsa and chips sitting in the middle of the table? That was exactly the scene at Brad’s Organic’s booth. I made my way to the table and was greeted with samples of Roasted Garlic Salsa, Mango Salsa and every flavor-temperature from mild to hot. To complement the salsa, the guys from Brad’s had their organic tortilla chips in the Sesame Blue Corn, Multigrain, Salsa Verde and traditional Yellow varieties.
I started trying out the flavors and the different pairings. The team at Brad’s suggested pairing the Roasted Garlic Salsa with the Salsa Verde chips and the Mango Salsa with the other varieties. The salsa was delicious. It wasn’t the watered down, drippy kind you sometimes find at the store. There was just the right balance of tomato chunks. I enjoyed the chips as well. They all had their own distinct flavor, but it wasn’t anything that would overpower the taste of the salsa.
Brad’s Organic was kind enough to send me back to the NFCA office with some sample to share with the team here. Our Office Manager Suzanne put them out for a meeting and they were gone in a flash. These are one of those naturally gluten-free snacks you certainly don’t want to miss!
