At a recent staff meeting, Kristin, NFCA’s Healthcare Relations Manager, brought in a shipment of KIND Bars, so we figured what better time for all of us to give them a try.
The bars were a big hit with the NFCA ladies. We each tried one of the bars, some of us two (i.e., me). We had four varieties to choose from: Cashew & Ginger Spice, Madagascar Vanilla Almond, Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Pecan, and Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt. These are the newest varieties from KIND Snacks and are designed to have less sugar, with each bar containing only 4-5 grams of sugar.
For my first bar, I opted for the Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt. I’m more of a milk chocolate kind of girl, but this bar was delicious. It had the perfect chocolate to nut ratio and it wasn’t an overwhelmingly salty snack. The bar was a bit more crumbly than their gluten-containing counterparts, but I thought the pile of crumbs on my desk was well worth the taste.
A few hours later when hunger was calling again, I thought that maybe I didn’t get a good enough taste of the bars to write a review, so I went back to the kitchen and grabbed the Madagascar Vanilla Almond bar. (The stock of bars in the kitchen was dwindling, so I’m thinking I’m not the only NFCA team member to get hungry for more KIND bars.) This variety was just as good as the Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt. I’m not sure what the difference is between Madagascar Vanilla and regular ol’ vanilla, but whatever it is, it is good. The bar was crumbly like the first one, but again I thought it was worth the crumb pile.
About a week or so after we tried the bars, I noticed them in my local Walmart. From a quick peek at their store locator, it seems like KIND bars are pretty readily available at most stores (even, surprisingly, Bed Bath & Beyond). You can purchase KIND snacks and find a location near you at www.KINDSnacks.com.
