Udi’s Double Chocolate Muffins

By | Oct 8, 2010

Part two of four product reviews from the most recent samples sent from Mambo Sprouts bring us to a product from Udi’s Gluten Free Foods. You may recognize the Udi’s brand name from the gluten-free bread and baked goods sections of your grocery store. There you would find items that are fairly new to the gluten-free food industry, such sliced gf bread and bagels. As great as those items are, I’m happy to get the opportunity to try something different for this review.

1097Udi’s Double Chocolate Muffins come in a package of four. Because each muffin is so dense and jam packed with chocolate flavor four is plenty. The taste and texture of these muffins is best described as a cross between a bran muffin and a rich chocolate cake. The aspect of this product I appreciated best was that it was not over sweet. Instead it seemed to be sweetened just enough to compliment the semi-sweet chocolate. I sampled these muffins straight out of the package and also slightly heated. I recommend heating them lightly because it makes the muffin a little fluffier and the chocolate chips melt just a bit. I also recommend sharing one with a friend or loved one because each muffin is extremely filling, plus it is always fun to share good gluten-free baked goods.
