I agree – AND many of the companies like Lays, Betty Crocker, etc. do NOT have a gluten-free dedicated factory. Therefore, there will be traces of wheat, soy, etc.

Wheat is such a good source of glutamic acid, as is soy, and corn, that MSG is often made from these foods. It’s good to avoid anyway. I’m not taking the risk.

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is currently listed as a safe gluten free food ingredient. Visit Celiac.com safe Gluten-Free foods list to view this information. Many individuals do have an intolerance to MSG, so Frito-Lay has a list of their products that do not contain MSG here.

Be careful with that one. Many of their “so-called” gluten-free products contain MSG which is often times derived from wheat. They can label a product “gluten-free” if has a trace. Just like a product can be labeled “fat-free” and still have up .9 grams of fat.
