FYI - my local grocery store has already started carrying the NEW versions of Chex. Please read the labels carefully before purchasing. The Cinnamon Chex is NOT gluten free. The box clearly states NEW! on it but, the ingredient label lists Barley Malt. Strawberry Chex and Chocolate Chex are incredibly delicious and gluten free! Yummy!

Thank you for visiting our blog and commenting.
The Gluten-free Chex post was a result of hearing about this exciting news on the NFCA's facebook page. I found one press release by general mills about this http://www.generalmills.com/corporate/media_center/news_release_detail.aspx?itemID=31762&catID=227 .After looking into it further I noticed a blogger we (the NFCA) works closely with, Zach of Gluten Free Raleigh, had more details on the subject including a release date, that post can be found here: http://glutenfreeraleigh.blogspot.com/search?q=chex . After reading your comment I decided it was a good idea to contact General Mill’s and I am now waiting for a reply and will keep you posted.

A week ago, I posted a question with two different sides about whether or not "Corn" Chex were already, at that time, in fact Gluten-Free at http://www.gluten-freesimplicity.com/.
I do not see a source on your article, but assuming it is valid, I would infer from your post that they plan to release more "Gluten-Free" versions of "Chex" (possibly including "Corn") on June 1st, 2009.
 This is great news!!!
 Thanks for the information.
If you have any clarifying information, I would be grateful if you would help us out by commenting on the related post at http://www.gluten-freesimplicity.com/?p=1983.
 Keep up the good work!!!
